What is Illegal Dumping?

Dumping any solid waste on or along any highway, in any waters of the state or on any other public or private property, unless it is done in compliance with other state laws. It is also illegal to abandon any automobile, boat, other vehicle or aircraft in the waters of the state (s. 287.81, Wis.). Illegally dumping of any type of waste has many impacts on us all:

Environmental Costs:

- disrupts and destroys nature, land and water

Social Costs:

- decreases neighborhood pride and attracts other criminal activities

Health Costs:

- attracts rodents, vermin and insects

Financial Costs:

- taxpayer dollars used to remove illegally dumped materials

Dumpster Etiquette

You may not use a dumpster if you did not rent it. Only with permission from the person who bought the rental. Most of the time people are happy to share their dumpster rental for a small fee. Buy a $20 tarp from the hardware store If you need to stop others from illegally dumping in your dumpster. Secure it over the top with some cheap bungee cords and will have some success.

Another method is to have your items staged and ready to be loaded as soon as the dumpster arrives. We can perform a Live Load if necessary at no extra fee. This is where the driver will wait (no longer than 20 minutes) for you to load the dumpster. This can save you money on a street permit and barricades as well. If you cannot have the dumpster loaded in 20 minutes, schedule a removal for the next day when you are setting up the order.
